One of the joys of owning a business is being able to work with other cottage industry knitting businesses to bring you some exclusive, boutique style limited edition kits. I hope you’ll join us for the August KAL Kit and treat yourself to a little something nice to celebrate a long year of hard work and lots of knitting!

The August KAL Kit of 2013 includes 1040 yards of Teresa Ruch’s 100% Tencel 5/2 Fingering Weight Yarn (that’s two skeins!), Two Fickle Knitter Design knitting patterns, a lovely pair of sharp embroidery scissors, seven postcards featuring exclusive Fickle Knitter yarntography, and a sterling silver tag stitch marker stamped with “yo” for yarn over from Knitifacts.

I have limited kits available this go round, so when they are sold out, that’s it! These kits will be available for sale through July 10, 2013 or until they sell out. Kits will ship August 1st, 2013 and the KAL will begin on August 7th, 2013.

I carefully hand pick and source the items in each kit from my favorite fiber artists and these limited edition kits are only available for a short time. Once the kits are sold out, that’s it! These kits offer an extraordinary value and a wonderful knitting experience. Please join us at the Fickle Knitter Design ravelry group for the official KAL thread where you can drop by for help, to chat, and compare your finished shawls. The KAL will kick off in the Fickle Knitter Design group on August 7th, 2013.

Shipping for kits is an additional $4 for US shipping and an additional $9 for International shipping.

Teresa Ruch Tencel Yarn
1040 yards (Two skeins!) of Teresa Ruch’s 100% 5/2 Tencel yarn. Tencel yarn is made from wood bark and is meant to mimic silk. The yarn is cool when you are warm and warm when you are cool. It is considered a green yarn and the chemicals involved in the process are reused in manufacturing until they are consumed in the manufacture process. It is a slinky, beautiful yarn with a great drape and shine. Teresa is truly an amazing dyer. She was a textile designer for Pendleton Blankets in Portland, Or for over a decade before becoming a well known weaver and dyer in her own right. Her colors are full of depth and are amazingly saturated. They are a delight to the senses.

August KAL Kit Scissors

Embroidery Scissors
I fell in love at first sight with these beautiful and sharp scissors whose style calls back to the beautiful singer sewing machines of the 20th century. These scissors are SHARP making them aesthetically pleasing and practical. Every one in my house knows not to use my embroidery scissors for any reason!

August KAL Kit Postcards

Over the years one of the knitting side hobbies I have developed is a love for photography. The August KAL Kit includes seven high quality postcards with my favorite photos of yarny art featured on each card. These are mail ready and include one of my favorite knitting sayings.
