I’ve been so busy traveling to Chicago for work, helping the kids go back to school, and editing my new book that I haven’t had much time to post lately! I have had time over the past few months to create a few new patterns which I hope you enjoy. And stay tuned for a really lovely and touching interview I did with Sheila Spaulding, owner of Knit N Purl located in Fairmount, Indiana. She has chickens. And yarn. And a blocking wall.
New Patterns and Kits
First up, is the Damson Plum Shawl knit with Sincere Sheep’s amazing Luminous Polwarth and Silk DK blend. The print pattern will be debuting in our collective booth at Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival next weekend, but you can get your hands on the digital download now! And stop by the Knitted Wit–Sincere Sheep–Fickle Knitter Design booth to pick up specially dyed kits for Damson Plum, Among Friends, and Ballerina Shawl!
Next up is the Whispering Whiskers shawl. This shawl is a one skein shawl knit using only 304 yards of yarn! I swatched and swatched and swatched and swatched to create this special paw print motif that is repeated across the main portion of the shawl. The best part? Mimi’s NeedleBasket on Etsy is going to offer some really fantastic limited edition luxe kits with the pattern using Mink yarn. According to Mimi the Mink is soft, magnificent, doesn’t pill or fuzz! More on this soon.
Finally, I’ve written up a sweet little beaded shawl called Dragon Fruit Shawl knit with Zen Yarn Garden‘s amazing Serenity Silk +! This one uses 330 yards of yarn, just under 200 size 6 beads, and is being offered in an exclusive kit by Earthfaire.com! If you’re new to beading please check out my tutorial blog post on how to knit with beads here.
Well that’s all for now! It’s back to pattern editing, book writing, and preparing for my business trip to Portland, Oregon for the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival next weekend!
