Raising money for Chron’s research in honor of Lynn Parks

I was really saddened to hear that Lynn Parks, aka (Lnupermom on ravelry) was losing her battle with Chron’s when I was at TNNA this past June. Lynn was a moderator in the Fickle Knitter Design group on ravelry and she tirelessly answered knitting question after knitting question for many years on Ravelry and offered up that advice freely to pretty much anyone who asked. She test knit for me for years and was always there when I needed her.

She was very young and I know her family is hurting very much over her loss. If you could keep them in your heart and thoughts I’m sure that would help on some level. She was an incredible person and dearly loved. She was a wonderful knitter and has helped so many people over the years. This has been a truly difficult loss for her family and the knitting community at large.

Tree & Arbor Wrap
Tree & Arbor Wrap Sales to be donated directly to Chron’s Research via the US Chron’s Organization CCFA.

Woolly Wormhead
QL Slouch Sales to be donated to Chron’s Research via the UK Chron’s Organization NACC

So to honor Lynn, Ruth from Woolly Wormhead and myself have decided to donate the proceeds from QL Slouch and the Tree and Arbor Wrap through July 31, 2012 to Chron’s Research. I think Lynn, a wonderful test knitter and all around decent human being would appreciate that she is still in our minds and in our hearts.

Ruth and I will be tracking sales of both patterns and then making a donation at the end of July toward Chron’s Research. I’ll be donating 100% of the sales of the Tree & Arbor Wrap from July 4, 2012-July 31, 2012 to CCFA in honor of Lynn.

If you’d prefer to donate directly to these organizations in honor of Lynn please visit CCFA (US) and NACC (UK).

My husband is a Crohn’s patient, so this is near & dear to my heart. Thank you so much for donating. It truly warms my heart and I love seeing the power of knitters directed towards something that in my life, in my world, means so much.
