Swap it like it's hot

I've been swapping like it's 1999 on the Knitty Coffeeshop. I've had only good experiences thus far (Hello Colourmart Cashmere, How YOU doin'?). I plan on trying Ravelry's swap feature next.

These are great resources if you've ended up with yarn in your stash or books on your shelf that don't lend themselves to knitting or patterns you think you'll use.

I've been knitting dutifully on the ad hoc Five College Sweater sleeve.

I'm happy with my progress so far, but 5 inches of seed stitch about did me in. One of these days I'll conquer my Loose Gauge Continental-Style (sounds like a band doesn't it? Or maybe an affliction?) issues and use that method for knitting seed stitch.

I have less than 3 inches left on my second Monkey sock. And a week deadline to finish it. So that means I have no desire to knit it.

I'm afraid my Sock muse has gone on holiday for the foreseeable future. And rightly so, all I knit last year was sock after repetitious sock. If I counted up how many pairs I knit it would be in the tens. If I were to knit another pair of socks (and I'm making no promises) it would be the Sidewinders. So clever.

Speaking of Clever (haha) Don't forget to leave a comment in the Very Lar post from Saturday for your chance at a free Ravelry invitation. For those that are curious the definition of Lar can be found here.
